AIV, LP, a Houston-based global wholesale distributor of valves and actuators for the oil and gas, power generation, chemical, petrochemical, refining, pulp and paper and water treatment industries, has announced plans for a new 320,000+ square-foot facility at NW Lake Drive, near Telge Road and Highway 290 in Northwest Houston.
The 32-acre construction site allows for the future expansion of up to 700,000 sq. ft. This massive facility will replace AIV’s current 130,000 sq. ft. home at 7140 West Sam Houston Parkway near Highway 290.
The new facility will consist of two-stories of Class A office space to house the company’s sales and administrative personnel, expanded warehouse space for AIV’s extensive valve and actuation inventory, and additional fabrication facilities to accommodate their modification division, Gulf Coast Modification. Currently, Gulf Coast Modification occupies 55,000 sq. ft. of space in AIV’s headquarters, and also operates a separate 28,000 sq. ft. facility which focuses on serving mid-stream clients. Additionally, AIV’s automation division is housed in a separate 22,000 sq. ft. facility.
“This new state-of-the-art facility will not only provide a dramatic increase in square footage to house our expansive valve inventory, but it also allows us to bring all of our modification and actuation operations back under one roof.
We believe this consolidation will greatly increase efficiency in the interaction between the divisions, and therefore improve our ability to best serve our clients,” stated AIV President, Trey Cook.
AIV has selected Houston-based design/build general contractor KDW to design and construct the custom industrial facility. They anticipate breaking ground later this year, and the project is scheduled for completion in late 2018.
Founded in Houston in 1991, AIV now boasts additional sales and stocking locations in the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, Dubai and Singapore, with more than $60 million in inventory worldwide.
